Settipani has suggested that she was the daughter of Hughes Count of Burgundy and Willa of Thurgau. Schaume indicates that she was the daughter or granddaughter of Charles Constantin Count of Vienne. Bouchart sets out several theories but in the end leaves her parentage unknown. Duchesne indicates that she was the daughter of Robert Count of Meux and Troyes.
