RESEARCH: It appears the lineage from Ivar Halfdansson to Heytir Gorrsson must have covered the period from about 780 AD to 385 AD or abt 390 years, yet we have only names for 4 generations. It is therefore presumed some generations are left out and that the patronymic meaning "son of" may more appropriately in this case mean "male descendant of". It will be thus interpreted until better evidence can be found.
